Report on
Executive Director Tenure and Transition
in Southern New England:
In the fall of
2002, a group of funders in Connecticut,
Massachusetts and Rhode Island formed a
collaborative, The New England Executive
Transitions Partnership (NEETP), to
learn more about what was occurring in
the nonprofit field regarding leadership
tenure and turnover and to examine the
possibility of developing a system of
supports for nonprofits undergoing
leadership change. The group wanted to
find out what was happening in regard to
executive tenure and transition in their
region, and a number of Hyams Foundation
grantees were willing to share their
insights through a recent survey. The
results of this survey can be
found in the report
Executive Director Tenure and
Transition in Southern New England.
